Cisco U – Rev Up to Recert: Programming for Network Engineer

I just completed the Programming for Network Engineers (PRNE) learning path training on Cisco U and would like to share this with you:

For a limited time, you have FREE access to learn Python AND earn 24 Cisco Continuing Education credits to apply toward recertification.

The PRNE Learning Path must be completed before November 22, 2024.

About this PRNE Learning Path

The Cisco U Programming for Network Engineer (PRNE) Learning Path equips you with fundamental skills in Python programming. You will use Python basics to create useful and practical scripts with Netmiko to retrieve data and configure network devices. After completing this Learning Path, you should have a basic understanding of Python and be able to create, apply, and troubleshoot simple network automation scripts.

If you’re a network engineer, SRE, DevOps engineer, or involved in any network automation projects or operations, I highly recommend this course! First of all, it’s a perfect course for learning or refreshing your fundamental Python skills, necessary for working on network automation in general. And if you’re already experienced in this field, there’s always something extra to learn. Personally, I learned some very useful new tricks on Python debugging.

In addition, thanks to this course – free until November 22, 2024 – you can earn 24 Cisco Continuing Education credits to apply toward recertification.

Mission accomplished!

At the beginning of October, I completed the course and successfully completed all the assessments.

I received 24 Cisco education credits to renew my Cisco certifications, an email, and some kind of certificate of completion :

I strongly recommend this course to anyone involved in a network automation-related project. The course is estimated to take around 20 hours, with 8 main chapters and 16 assessments.  If you have a couple of days available, depending on your level, it’s definitely worth your time.

In addition, I also highly recommend the Cisco U platform. Even without any subscription there is a large number of learning resources, constantly updated.

Happy learning!
